The Pleiadians ("Pleds") are the major contributors to the Peace, such as it is, here on Earth. Occupying the center chair on the Earth Affairs Council, the Pleiadian Hegemony is also one of the greater political and diplomatic bodies in this part of the galaxy. They are the primary sponsors of the ETsOnly! Lounges and general facilities, hoping that a neutral place for
They have enlisted the aid of MIBs to act as their "enforcers" when such things are necessary. A (mostly) neutral peace-keeping force, and runners of occasional errands. Any possible activities beyond this level [... approx 60 words omitted...]
Their mission here on Earth centers around their passionate love for ED Humans and a dedication to seeing them advance beyond their present troubled state and to reach a point where they may stand on their own among the other races of the galaxy, no longer a victim of their own combativeness, wastefulness or self-predatory greed.
Teaching missions -- The Pleiadians have been implicated widely among the ED Humans as "teachers" and some cross between mystics and magicians. There are several humans who claim to "channel" messages and teachings from the Pleiadians. Officially, the Pleiadian Hegemony has failed to directly comment on these observations, but not refuted these claims either. It is noted that the alleged activities are entirely consistent with their Mission here on Earth, however.
Billy Meier - A couple decades ago (or so) one Billy Meier gained considerable media attention by claiming to be in direct (including physical) contact with a Pleiadian mission group. He published footage of Pleiadian "beam ships," claimed to have various members of that mission group actually walking around on his property and (who knows) to be sharing tea with the mission leader. It is now generally considered that the beam ship video footage was faked, flying models having been discovered in one of the Meier property buildings. Die-hard fans claim these were planted by those who wished to discredit the incidents. In fact, it is held that the "MIBs" probably planted these as false evidence. [We MIBs can not comment on this; only smile enigmatically.] One of the more interesting aspects of the Billy Meier incidents, however, is a video called "The Metal" where a world famous metallurgist reported on the results of his analysis of a chunk of metal given to him by Mr Meier. The analysis defied human metallurgic technology. Unfortunately (he claimed) the metal sample had vanished, and was no longer available to independent verification. (Convenient: we draw no conclusions, and deny any knowledge of the sample's present location. Officially deny. We know nothing. Smirk.)
The Pleiadian Hegemony is the name of the major political body operated by the Pleds in this part of the galaxy. The word "Hegemony" turns out to be the closest match in any Earthling language, and is not exactly correct. In ED Human English, "hegemony" implies a power block whose primary purpose is simply power. (Well... an empire or rule of many states or peoples, often kept by ideology or by the threat of power rather than it's actual use.) The Pleiadian Hegemony, however, is not interested in power for the sake of power, but in power only so far as it is useful for the promotion of harmony among all the varying forms of consciousness and awareness in our galaxy. Hegemony applies only in that it is a viewpoint and an ethic that is indeed being promoted to others. While (perhaps) a truly enlightened and benevolent goal, the very fact of attempting to "run their viewpoint on others" is antithetical to the concept of free will (and even of questionable ethics, if you want to get picky.) For this reason the Pleds have adopted the ED Human term "Hegemony" as a reminder to themselves of the fine line they are walking by their presence here on Earth, and an open acknowledgement to others (in a sort of reverse way) that their mission is one of ethics and harmony, not of domination.
The Lyran wars (or the Orion-Lyran Wars) is the title given to a significant chapter in the history between the Pleiadians and the Draconians, where in a full out space war occurred between the two races quite some time ago, around the Lyran systems. This event is detailed else where (in the MIB archives, for instance), and is mentioned here because the Pleiadians themselves consider it the most significant event in their recent history, even though the Draconians "won" that conflict. The Pleiadians consider instead that, in having lost the war (as, they will remind you, all participants in a war always do -- no one ever wins a war) and having been forced to flee their home worlds, they gained a significant opportunity for growth and further development. In short, it was a Good Thing in the long run. This attitude annoys the Draconians very much, who still consider they won the wars and really can't figure out why the Pleiadians still exist, let alone seem to be in charge.
The Pleds have organized and maintain the Earth Affairs Council (or the ETsOnly! Council, whose immediate tasks revolve around nominal diplomatic contact between all the operating missions, groups and species visiting here on Earth, to promote a greater welfare for all, including the Earthlings, and to always keep the door open (and a light on -- as it were). The long range purpose of the Council is to weld together a common viewpoint and agreement on how Earth and the ED Humans living on it shall be regarded by the galaxy as a whole, at among the federated worlds. More on this can be found else where.
